The state forestry institution “Lepel forestry” of the Vitebsk state production forestry association was established in August 1936, located in the south-eastern Vitebsk region in the territory of the Lepel and Chashniki administrative regions. The length of the territory of the forestry from north to south is 60 km, from west to east - 75 km.

Ecological route of Lepel forestry

1. "Cordon Dolgoe"

Lepel forestry offers for recreation the hunting complex "Сordon Dolgoe". Located in a quiet cozy corner of the Lepelsky district in the village of Slobodka, 15 km. from Lepel. Geographical coordinates: latitude 54 ° 57′21 ″ N (54.955924), longitude 28 ° 31′31 ″ E (28.525301). We offer 3 comfortable hunting lodges for guests, located in a pine forest on the picturesque shore of lake Dolgoe, where you can have a wonderful vacation and weekend. On the territory of the hunting complex there is a playground, rope park, Russian bathhouse, gazebo for 40 people for corporate meetings, banquets and other celebrations.

2. Aviary

In accordance with the state program for the development of the hunting economy for 2006 - 2015, on the basis of the Lepel forestry, a site was selected for the construction of an aviary. The area of the aviary is 170 hectares. Under an agreement with the GPU NP "Belovezhskaya Pushcha", 52 individuals of royal stag were acquired for over-exposure in the aviary and further release into the territory of the Lepel forestry to create a new population of this species of hunting animal. On the basis of an agreement concluded with one of the farms of the Republic of Lithuania, 60 individuals of European fallow deer were purchased and released into the enclosure.

3. City Lepel

The city of Lepel is located on the southeastern shore of Lake Lepel, 155 km from Minsk and 110 km from Vitebsk. The rivers Ulla and Essa flow through the city. The population is 17 690 people (as of January 1, 2016). It is connected by road with Polotsk, Minsk, Vitebsk, Orsha and Ulla. Here is the terminal station of the Orsha-Lepel railway line. Lepel region is rich in natural attractions, especially in forests and lakes. 53% of the territory is forest. The area of the forest fund as of 01.01.19 is 93,642 ha, of which 84,251 ha are forested.

4. "Tsar Dub"

In the village of Tadulino, the famous "Tsar Dub" grows, which is a symbol of the Reut family. According to rough estimates, his age is 350-500 years. The height of the tree is not less than twenty meters, and the trunk is so wide that it is difficult to grasp it with four. The radius of the crown is about ten meters. Boulders lie nearby, possibly no less ancient than the oak itself. The tree is recognized as a monument of republican significance and is protected by a forest protection service. Around the fenced area there is a small recreation area: with wooden benches, a stump table, a gazebo. Any tourist who came to rest in Belarus and traveling in the Lepel region can have a picnic under the crown of one of the oldest trees in the country.

5. Source "Krasnoluchka"

Everyone knows that the vital energy of water can work miracles. In Lepel, you can also touch such a miracle by drinking water from a living source. Source is located in a picturesque place in the middle of the greenery of the forest one kilometer from the village of Krasnoluchka. Tourists eager to try this clean water will not get lost, because there are special signs on the trees. It is believed that the water in the source is full of rich elements and is open by prayers, therefore it is healing. A source in Lepel gives many people hope for healing and help in urgent matters. There is a legend about this source. One good man had a daughter who was blind from birth. He prayed for a long time for her healing until one day in a dream he saw the Mother of God. She commanded a loving father to go to the holy spring and wash his daughter's face with healing water. The man obeyed, the daughter was healed. Then, as a sign of gratitude, my father built a temple near the source. In the 60s, the shrine burned down, and the icon of the Mother of God, stored here, disappeared.

6. "Staryi Brovar"

The calling card of the Toronkovichi is the catchy red giant of the end of the 19th century, the former "Pansky Brovar" - distillery. The old building, or rather, the ensemble, because next to the main production building there is also a special architectural solution, a stone vault for a vat, adjoining an artificial square reservoir formed by a small brook.

7. Ancient cemetery

Near the village of Toronkovichi at the top of the hill there used to be an ancient cemetery. On the graves, stone crosses and hewn slabs stood. During the massive land reclamation, they were demolished, but in the early 2000s, Lepel local historians found stones and the cemetery was reborn.

8. Memorial "Vishenki"

МMemorial "Vishenki" located in the Chashniki district. It was built on the spot where on March 9, 1944 the village of Vishenki was completely burned, including 36 houses were destroyed and 114 civilians of this village were burned. Low gray monuments were erected here, commemorative inscriptions on which indicate that during the war, 14 houses of the village of Dvor Slidtsy, 10 houses of the village of Staichaya were also burned, where 26 civilians were killed, 17 houses of the village of Belarus with 4 residents, 9 houses of the village Krasnoe utro, the village of Yarino and 45 houses of the village of Astashevo, where 22 people died. A little away from the memorial is a composition in the form of sculptures of a man and a woman, symbolizing civilians who died during the war.
